I was a little shocked to find a news release for a back-to-school event in my inbox last week.
OK, not that shocked. It seems those kinds of things creep up earlier and earlier each year. But it feels like I just finished covering graduations!
This particular news release was for an upcoming sale aimed at teachers. The release included the statistic that teachers usually spend about $1,000 out of pocket on school supplies. Over on Twitter, I wondered if that stat is correct, and a few teachers said it sounded about right.
Parents, how much do you spend on supplies when the year begins? And when do you start shopping?
