Last week, Jess Reed wrote about her commitment to her fitness and nutrition plan.
This week, she faces yet another setback.

It’s been another week of frustration! My husband had to travel this week, so I had to do my exercises at home on Monday. I had already secured a babysitter for Wednesday to do my personal training and was looking forward to getting into the gym.
Tuesday was cleaning day. As I was leaning over, I threw out my back again. I can’t even explain to you the feeling I get in the pit of my stomach after the first twinge — when I know what is coming. I am still ready. I am still committed, but my body is working against me.
I had to cancel my training on Wednesday, and I stayed home with heat on my back. I did this for two days; the only exercise I was able to do was my stretching. By Friday morning I felt much better and made it back into the gym by 7:30 a.m.
I did all of my core exercises and 30 minutes on the bike. I even managed to feel good for the rest of the day.
On Saturday, I had a family reunion, and while getting ready for the event, I threw out my back while doing my hair. Yes, you read that correctly, I threw out my back doing my hair. The reunion was in Maryland, and my back hurt so bad that I lay down in the car all the way there and back.
I am happy to report that my recommitment to my nutrition is going very well. No more tasting, and at the family reunion, I passed over brownies for sugar-free Jell-O with pineapple in it. There is no margin for error at this point; not being able to work out means that I have to be flawless in my nutrition.
So here I sit, in my living room, like I have been for the last two days.
I will not give up, I will not give up, I WILL NOT GIVE UP!
