What do I love more than watching Team USA take gold at the Olympics? Olympic style — specifically the nail art that is coloring the London games.

Olympians (including Missy Franklin, who tweeted a photo of her red, white and blue mani and pedi) have broken away from only showing support with a uniform. Now, an athlete’s home country can be identified by the flags painted delicately on their fingers and toes.

Most popular nail designs this year incorporate British flags, for the site of the 2012 Olympics, a home flag and the Olympic rings.

My Olympic nail pick is Colombian swimmer Carolina Colorado Henao, who wore the beautiful colors of the Colombian flag on most nails and a touch of London spirit on her thumbs.

If you want nails like the athletes, check out the how-to video below. Also, look at ideas from The Style Ref on how to make your nails cheer for Team USA.
