Send us your handmade valentines, win a $50 gift card

Remember the valentines of yesteryear?

Handmade creations covered with glitter, buttons and lace doilies have since taken a backseat to eGreetings and generic cards from big-box stores.

This Valentine’s Day, we’d like to see you get crafty. And we’ve got a $50 Heritage Hills gift card to inspire your creative inner Cupid.

Break out the construction paper and glue and go to town with sequins, ribbons, fabric and yarn.

Snap a photo of your valentine and submit it via the online form at smartmagpa.com by 11:59 p.m. Feb. 6.

We’ll then open up voting to the public from Feb. 7 to 11:59 p.m. Feb. 13. The crowd favorite will be announced at smartmagpa.com Feb. 14.

If you’d like to donate your valentine, it can be hand-delivered to the York Daily Record/Sunday News, 1891 Loucks Road, West Manchester Township. A dropbox will be available in the main lobby from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Feb. 13.

All collected valentines will be donated to the York Hospital NICU staff and patients Feb. 14.

Great idea for a contest. Unfortunately, I have no use for a prize that promotes the business of an owner who attempted to use scare tactics with his employees to promote his chosen presidential candidate.
    Thanks, but no thanks.
