Today I am making a powder version of my homemade laundry detergent. It is super simple.
Ingredients
equal parts:
Ivory Original Bar Soap
Twenty Mule Team Borax
Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
I used my Microplane Grater to grate the soap this time. I have used a food processor or a traditional box grater in the past, but I was not happy with the size of the the grate for the application of making powder laundry detergent.
Both the box grater and the food processor work fine for the liquid version — or if you have a top-load machine — but I have a high-efficiency washing machine.
There is less water used and I wanted the granules to be as fine as possible so they were able to dissolve quickly and get to work cleaning my clothes!
