I had the apartment to myself last Saturday morning while Will went to a fantasy baseball event at Martin Library in York. We call our time alone “goofing time.” He usually gets a couple hours in the afternoon while I’m at work, and I get another hour or two in the evening while I wait for him to come home.
But I’m pretty sure we use our goofing time differently.
I spent Saturday making dinner, sweeping the kitchen floor, decluttering the living room/bedroom, changing the bed sheets and cleaning the bathroom.
It sounds like a lot, but it was kind of relaxing. I had my lady music playing (you know, Pandora and Ingrid Michaelson) and got through most of the house work pretty quick. Just enough time to sit down and paint my finger nails and get to work.
And in all that, I made these savory cannelloni beans to serve with Kansas City Rub chicken cutlets. Watch out world. These might just be the best alternative to maple baked beans.
