Of Pots and Pens: Homemade pasta

You might have heard about the time I went crazy when I tried to make homemade ravioli.

And how after reading about my near case of insanity, Will’s Aunt Peach mailed me a pasta maker for his birthday (at least that’s how he likes to say it, but I think it’s really for him since I keep him fed).

In anticipating of using this machine for the first time I planned Sunday family dinner.

Will kept asking who’s family we were going to have dinner with.

“Ours,” I told him. “You and me.”

So I splurged on a fancy jar of pasta sauce (because I don’t love tomatoes enough to make my own) and bought some delicious, crusty bread along with some spinach for a salad and off we went to prepare Sunday family dinner.

From start to finish it took nearly two hours.

We had met some friends for happy hour Sunday night, followed by a two hour nap, so we didn’t end up even starting Sunday family dinner until 10:15 p.m. No worries. We work night shift and really have no life outside of that.
