When the daily alarm goes off, women everywhere are rolling over and going back to bed for just five more minutes.
Working women, stay-at-home moms and ladies across the board are cramming to get the coffee brewed, the clothes ironed and their hair brushed just to make it out the door on time. A stylish makeup application is the last thing they have time for.
But makeup artist Kyle Mills said every day is a photo shoot, so why not look your best?
Wow, what a thought. It sure would be nice to have a professional in your bathroom every morning telling you what to do, or even better, doing it for you. But that’s not reality.
Have no fear, Mills said it doesn’t take much more than 15 minutes to apply a look that will last and make your confidence soar.

Mills has worked around beauty for the past 12 years, creating stunning and dramatic looks for Miss Texas USA, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, MTV’s “Made” and “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria.
Recently, Mills was at Shortino’s Salon & Spa in Springettsbury Township offering some makeup tips to the salon’s VIP clients with the line he represents — glōminerals.
In less than 20 minutes, Mills transformed stylist Meghann Johnston into a pout-lipped beauty ready for the day.
Shortino’s spa manager, Crystal Hagan, said the makeup style for career women is to look polished and put together in less than 10 minutes.
“Everyone wants to look natural,” Hagan said.
A lot of women get comfortable with their routine and aren’t into a lot of color, but Hagan said with a few little tips you can incorporate many colors into your routine and it can be realistic and wearable. Mills said you should change your makeup like you change your underwear.
“You have 10 to 15 lip colors in your drawer, why not use it?” he said.

Kyle Mills’ makeup tips
• Always moisturize.
• Always clean your skincare applicators.
• Have a professional match your foundation color.
• Start makeup application at the top of the face and work down.
• Perfect eyebrows are almost as important as bold lips. Fill the brows in with an eyebrow powder for a softer, more finished look. The eyebrows should start straight up from the side of the nose, arch over the iris and end over the corner of the eye.
• Make your shadow work with your eyes, not match your eyes. Blue eyes pop with brown hues, brown eyes work well with brighter colors, and green eyes sparkle with shades of purple.
• Start your cheek blush on the apple of your cheek and blend outward toward hairline.
• When applying lip liner, use the side, not the point, of the pencil and let it find the edge of the lip. It will help the lipstick last longer. Brush lipstick overtop.
• Finally, apply mascara.
• If you want to take the everyday look up a notch for cocktails after work, apply a darker eye shadow heavy through the crease. Use a bright highlight color right under the outer brow and inside the nose. Line the eye with a metallic pencil and you’re ready for a night out on the town.
