Remember Pat Listach?

The former Rookie of the Year winner is back in The Bigs, coaching third for the Washington Nationals. With Marquis Grissom on the staff, the Nats have to have the quickest coaching roster in big league history.

Let's start the week off with a quick rundown of news from the of rest the region's teams.


  • Koji Uehara pitched well in his last start. The Baltimore Sun's Dan Connelly writes about Dave Trembley's job security.

  • The World Champs are getting plenty of ink, and not just from the Inq

  • Pirates prospect Andrew McCutchen won't be on the Opening Day roster. Jack Wilson wants to renegotiate.

In today's look around the rest of The Bigs, we find out some Tigers have health concerns and the Cubs have tabbed their closer.

  • Kevin Gregg has beaten out Carlos Marmol for the right to slam the door shut at Wrigley.
  • Detroit Tigers hurler Dontrelle Willis has been placed on the disabled list because of an anxiety disorder. Willis talks openly about the issue and brings some levity to it.
  • DiMaggio. Mantle. Bernie Williams. Brett Gardner?
  • Citi Field hosted its first game. And the Mets were no where to be found.
