A new job for Jamie Moyer

Nearly lost in the joy of winning the National League East Wednesday night was the news of Jamie Moyer's season-ending injury.
At his age, and with his early season struggles, it's not hard to imagine that the veteran southpaw has thrown his last Major League pitch.
But he shouldn't be without a job.
More appropriately, he shouldn't be without a job with his hometown team, The Philadelphia Phillies.
It just so happens the Phillies have an opening. ...

in their broadcast booth.
Who better to replace the beloved Harry Kalas than the man who pitched the division-clinching game in 2007 and helped bring the franchise its second World Series Championship?
You might say Scott Graham, but that is of course doubtful. Despite Graham's excellence as a broadcaster and connection with the fans, he fell out of favor with the people who make the decisions in Philadelphia. So, unless there's a dramatic change of heart, Graham is not going to replace The Voice.
So why not Moyer?
The fans love him. The broadcasters love him. He's got a commanding voice.
According to what the other pitchers on the staff have said, Moyer brings a ton of insights and gets them across with aplomb.
So the Phillies should offer Moyer the job.
If he took it, the move could have another benefit.
It could move Chris Wheeler out of the analysts' chair and into the play-by-play spot.
And wouldn't that be nice?
