These American League playoffs belong to Alex Rodriguez.
CC Sabathia was nothing short of fantastic.
The umpiring, of course, was erratic.

This thing's over. Let's look at why.

  • Let's get one thing straight, the blown calls didn't change the outcome of this game. The Yankees dominated in every fashion. However, you know things are bad when MLB.com addresses the issue in-depth.
On that note, Major League Baseball's Web site does do a pretty fair job of covering the sport objectively. Sometimes better than the Worldwide Leader.
  • Major League Baseball is, however, denying there is any evidence that Mariano Rivera is doctoring the ball in a YouTube video.
  • How good was CC Sabathia Tuesday night? He was so good it didn't hit us that Joe Buck described him as the 290-pounder. Think about that. He's as heavey as Shaq, but a half-foot smaller.
  • One reason the Yankees haven't been affected by Mark Teixeira's ALCS struggles is that Johnny Damon has turned it around the last two games. Teixeira is batting just .111 in the series and has struggled with low, off-speed pitches.
  • Through the first four games of the ALCS, Chone Figgins and Bobby Abreu have both batted .125. That's absolutely killing the Angels.
  • Game 5 is at 7:57 p.m. Thursday.
