York College volleyball coach Sue DuMars knows where to look for talent when recruiting.
The YAIAA.
Currently the Spartans have five former York area high school standouts on the squad, all of which see significant time in the team's rotation.
Red Lion alum Alishia Waltermyer (junior), Delone Catholic's Ashley Rineman (freshman), Hanover grad Jana Arentz (junior), team up with the Northeastern tandem of Alysse Beshore (junior) and Cortni Rentzel (sophomore), pictured below.
"Our goal every year is to get the top kids from the area," DuMars said.
After four matches, the locals lead the Spartans in several statistical categories: Waltermyer (37 kills), Rentzel (120 assists), Beshore (7 blocks), Rineman (63 digs).
