Another title for Huskie field hockey

carman.jpegA better ending couldn't have happened for longtime Bloomsburg field hockey coach Jan Hutchinson, and Dallastown grad Aubrey Carman, left, had a part.

The Huskies sent their coach off into retirement with their fourth straight NCAA Division II title Sunday with a 3-2 win over UMass-Lowell.

Hutchinson ends her 32-year reign with 16 PSAC titles and 16 national championships.

"I'm excited and very happy that it ended this way," Hutchinson said in a newsrelease. "But I'm mostly happy for the seniors, because they'll leave here with four championships. This season was a story book ending, and for these kids to come back and win it all...it's incredible."

Carman, a senior, now has four national titles in her pocket. The defender started in all but one game this season. She contributed one goal and two assists for an offense that outscored opponents 105-17 this year and outshot them 417-142.
