The Flying Dutchmen women's basketball opened their 2009-10 season with an easy 80-50 victory at Hood on Sunday, a game in which LVC led 37-19 at halftime and led by as many as 34 points in the second half

The Dutchmen never trailed, opening up a 16-4 lead on a jumper by Chelsea Kehr, a Hanover alum. In the second half, after Hood closed within 20 at 49-29, LVC scored 14 straight points to extend its lead to 63-29.

Former Susquehannock standout Andrea Hoover was a big factor in facilitating the game at the point guard spot, with four assists and four steals for the Dutchmen.

The Dutchmen's next game is Tuesday at Misericordia at 7 p.m.
