Julie Brown scores early record at Ship

From the “That didn’t take long” department:

In a season barely a couple of weeks old, Julie Brown, a former Dallastown swimming star, has already eclipsed a Shippensburg University record with her swim of 23.61 in the 50 yard freestyle at the Patriot Invitational held at the George Mason University.

Of course, it was Brown’s own school record, but the sophomore wasn’t done there. She anchored the Raiders’ 200 medley relay that also set a Ship mark with its time of 1:47.91.

Sorry about the error on Julie’s class at Shippensburg. I have corrected it. I can’t believe that after watching Julie swim at Dallastown every year and talking to Ship coach Tim Verge about her last spring, that I type junior.
