I love Cats.
And cats. This, however, is about the capitalized noun. My current obsession is the musical Cats. Yes. Cats . Dancing, singing cats. When I say it that way, it sounds...not worth your time, huh? Well, I suppose you have to like musicals. I love musicals. They're my escape.
I remember watching it when I was little. I think everyone knows the song, "Memory." I can't sing (well) and as this is a computer, it won't jog anyone's memory. OH, pun not intended. Well, the musical is based of poems. T.S. Eliot wrote a collection called "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats." Andrew Lloyd Webber decided, hey, these would be great if sung. The musical centers around the Jellicle Ball, and choosing a cat to go to the Heavyside Layer. (an afterworld situation) Different cats are introduced. Its a really unique musical. The makeup and costumes are amazing. The actors transform into these elegant, almost sensual creatures. Much like cats, they are graceful and hypnotizing.
I'm in love with Mr. Mistoffelees. He's adorable.

The 'pimp' cat is Rum Tum Tugger. He's the David Bowie/Elvis/Tim Curry of the cats.

I love this musical too! Mr. Mistoffelees is definatly the best cat by far. I espically like the dancing, but that might just be because I'm a dancer myself. I saw it live in New York before it closed and at the Strand here in (Old) York two or three years ago. I love it!
