Anyone else have this math course?
We adapted it when I was in 8th grade...so in '04.
I do well in CPM. But students complain SO MUCH about the program.
I really can not explain it or define it. Students complain about how the teacher hardly teaches. They will just say 'Ok, problems CF 60 through CF 80.' (The CF refers to the abbreviated chapter title.) Well, if you ask for help, they will help you. My teachers have broadened main ideas of each chapter in order for everyone to understand.
Eh, the general opinion of CPM is negative. I've never really had a problem with it. We complained with the other course.
You know what? People just don't like math.
I have had some experience with this type of math course (7-10 grade). I can honestly say that I liked it in the beginning, but it got harder as the maths progressed. Half of my trig class last year was taught with CPM, and I didn't really care for it then. I guess it depends on which teacher is using the books. Some teachers, I know for a fact, don't do anything while teaching with CPM.
Mneh....I don't know. I just like the math courses where teachers do example problems on the board. I am part-visual learner.
