A benefit concert for the Four Diamonds Fund will take place Saturday, April 7 at the Dover Community Center at 3700 Davidsburg Road, Dover. Musical performances will begin at 6 p.m. and end about 10 p.m.
Performances by local bands include Crunk Alms, Ergo Sum, Rich King Phil, Rosematter, Sandlot Heroes, The Swinging Fingers and 27 Lights. Each band will play for approximately 30 minutes.
“It is a really good cause and we’re very excited to play and support it,” said York College freshman David Imhoff, guitarist for Ergo Sum. “We’re also really excited to hear some of the other bands that we’ve never heard before,” said Imhoff.
Tickets will be sold for $5 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the Four Diamonds Fund, which aides families who have children being treated for pediatric cancer at Penn State Children’s Hospital.
The benefit concert is being hosted by Brittany Shaffner, a senior at Dover Area High School.
“Cancer is something that affects everyone, whether you know someone with cancer or not,” said Shaffner.
The concert was created as a senior focal project but is planned to continue if deemed successful. “I wanted to do something that would make a difference,” said Shaffner.
