Name: Michelle Lacroix

Age: 17

School: Susquehannock High School

Where do you work?

I work at Chick-fil-A in Shrewsbury.

How long have you worked there?

I have worked there for over two-and-a-half years and have been there
ever since the store opened back in 2005. I started young at 15 and then worked
my way up to be team leader at 17.

What do you do?

I am a team leader so my job is to watch over the employees and keep
everyone organized. My specialty, though, is working the drive-thru. I love working on the headset and taking people's orders,
but I also work as a bagger (for people's orders), as the drive-thru window
greeter, and as a front-counter worker.

When do you work?

I work Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 10:30 p.m., and then on
Saturdays, I open the store, so I work 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What is the most interesting aspect of your job?

The most interesting part is definitely getting to interact with people.
I never know what cool new person I am going to meet each day. Every day at work
is new, and every day I learn a bit more from the people that come in. The
customers and their loyalty truly mean a lot to me.

How much do you get paid?

I get paid $8.05 an hour.

Does anyone spit in the food?

Ha, ha no, unless they are making it for me. One time I asked them to
make me a sandwich and someone put a hairnet on it - yuck.

What lessons from your job will you remember after college?

I will definitely remember the leadership and teamwork skills. Before
this job, I was shy and would not take charge in a group situation. But, as team
leader, I need to take charge and keep everyone on task. I think that knowing
how to be a good leader and knowing how to cooperate well with others are skills
that I can use in college and for the rest of my life.

What does your uniform consist of?

Black pants, black non-slip shoes, a red shirt (team leaders get red
ones, regular employees get black), and a Chick-fil-A visor
