Exemption leads to crazy squirrels and plants

| | Comments (1)

I got exempt from all my finals. School ends on the 6th, I got off on the 31st. I can sleep in, while my peers are brushing their teeth and boarding the bus. It sucks.

I get up, and clean. Yardwork and gardening, too. I like it just fine, but after the first day, I was missing my friends. Heck, I would have given anything to talk with people I don't like.

Of course, its kind of my fault. I get into these hermit crab moods, where I don't want to socialize. I'd rather hole up in my shell and have 'me' time. However, going to school without taking any finals is probably boring.

So today? I tidied up, then went outside to keep a sun diary on this potential garden spot. In order to grow a veggie garden, it should get at least six hours of sun. I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (well, I have to reread them before the seventh one comes out!) so I wouldn't bore myself to death. I got distracted, though.

We have crazy squirrels in our yard. There is a grove of trees next to the possible garden (goodbye chance of sun) where they nest. I watched a pair of squirrels go around and around the same trunk for 15 minutes. I think its mating season, and the poor stupid female didn't know how else to escape. They make this obnoxious 'chhh' noise, and I'd mock the noise. I must be really good at it, because one 'chhh' out of me, and they run away. Well, while people are taking finals, I'm becoming a professional 'chhh'-er.

After that, I actually wanted to mulch. We have so many flowers and plants around our house, so I have to do rounds. Well, with the absense of J.D. and Dr. Cox. I check who needs watered and cut the dead leaves. We have a wisteria vine that I swear has a mind of its own. Just stand still for too long around it, and its vines slowly curl around you. Ah!

I hope these plants don't take the place of my friends.

Love the "Scrubs" reference at the end here, Lily.

I also tend to find myself in hermit crab moods more often than not. It sounds like you're keeping yourself busy, though.
