Of Stress and Sweets

I’m finally home after being away off-and-on for almost two months, and I’m stressed–summer homework, online courses, permit test, and so on. So what did I do? I baked a cake.


Well, that’s not exactly how it went. I just got home from a week of camp and a few days on the Jersey shore (my reason for no posts). As I wasn’t home for most of June, I’ve got quite a bit of catching up to do: read 2 books and write papers on them for school, catch up with my online health course, and study for my permit test (and, as always, clean my room). Being my typical self, I procrastinated and talked to a friend on IM. One topic led to another, and he agreed he’d look up some information for me that I needed if I’d bake a cake.
One trip to Rutters for buttermilk and two hours later, I had a beautiful double layer chocolate confection with peanut butter icing that tasted “really good,”according to my friend. (Let it be known: he never got my information). But that’s not the point: I often relieve stress by baking and cooking. It’s very therapeutic. I should really start giving my finished products away…what do you guys do for stress?
