Name: Rob Rotell
Age: 18
Graduate of: Central York High School
Job: Pharmacy technician

Who is your employer? Weis Markets pharmacy

What are your duties? I operate the register, count pills, communicate with patients, tidy up the working space and assist the pharmacists.

How long have you been working there? I have worked there for two years now.

How many hours do you usually work in a week? Usually 20-plus hours a week. (I like to keep in mind that more hours mean more moolah.)

What is your uniform? I get to dress up in a nice shirt, slacks and a nifty tie.

What is your favorite part of your job? Helping people live healthier lives.

Do you enjoy your job? I’ve never regretted stepping into the pharmacy.

What is your least favorite part of your job? Dealing with health insurance problems.

What is the most common misconception you think people have about your job? People might think that I know the interactions and effects of medications; however, these are the things that pharmacists learned in college

How did you become interested in obtaining this job? At first, I just wanted to fit in with the crowd and say that I had a job, but now, as I’ve graduated high school, I just want to make sure I can afford college.

Did you ever consider becoming a pharmacist? I’ve considered it, but I don't think it would be something that would interest me every day for the rest of my life.
