Hi Teen Takeovers!
My name is Annie Swade and I am a rising senior at Susquehannock High School. I know I was suppose to introduce myself a few days ago, but I just got back from vacation and figured it was better late than never.
To introduce myself, well, I am the assistant editor of the Susquehannock Courier and I do plan on going into journalism as a career someday. I recently went to the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Journalism Workshop at Columbia University in New York City and had a blast. It was definately an experience of a lifetime. I learned a lot and it greatly helped to improve my writing skills.
After the workshop, I spent a week at Bethany Beach in Delaware.
Bethany Beach is my home away from home. I love it there and live for sitting on the beach reading a good book. I spent the week with my extended family and it was lots of fun. My family means the world to me. I have an older brother, David, and a younger sister, Katie; both of whom I admire greatly. My friends also mean the world to me. Without them, I would be completely lost.
When I am not sitting on the beach and am actually involved in activities; I am a producer of Susquehannock's tv studio and Channel 99, which is a local access channel that we run programs on for the community on. This includes sporting events, band and orchestra concerts, a weekly talk show, spotlight programs, and whatever else comes along. I am also invloved in class council, S.A.D.D., school plays and musicals, latin club, a theatre group called T.O.P.A.S.Y.C., and newspaper.
I am really exicted about tomorrows meeting and I can't wait to meet everyone!
Ahhhhhh! I know you! Sort of...well, through the newspaper. So were you the only one to take a Teen Takeover handout, then? Yay! Now there are three Suskies on the staff!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only new senior on the staff! I am going into my final year at Spring Grove. When I went to orientation and saw people who were only going into 8th grade, I felt ancient. Haha, glad to see I'm not alone...guess I'll cya tomorrow!
Don't talk about ancient... I turn 30 on Aug. 5!! YIKES!!!
