Running

| | Comments (3)

After three straight days of field hockey practice 8-3, I felt very motivated to write about what we do most...run!

Feet hitting the ground,
poundpoundpound
Concentrate; strong strides and pump arms up the hill. Breathe.
poundpoundpound
Calves burning, muscles contracting; forget that. Concentrate. Harder.
poundpoundpound
Downhill now; open strides. Let gravity have its pull. Focus.
poundpoundpound
Bile rising. Ignore. Swallow. Continue.
poundpoundpound
Finish line in sight. Turn it up. Pass one body. Two. I said, turn it up!
poundpoundpound
Home stretch--sprint! Go! Work arms. Breathe in through nose; out through mouth. In, out, in, out. Don't break rhythm.
poundpoundpound
This is it. All out, all out! Work it!
poundpoundpound
All over.
stepstepstepstep
All thoughts back, thick clouds gathering on command.
stepstepstep
Water. Real breaths. Pain.
stepstep
Heart slowing.
step.
Stop.

You signed up for it! Haha, I don't mind running though.

I never said I minded running, Dylan. Stop putting words in my mouth; put up the white flag and just surrender already! Hahaha ;)

Now I have to go cry. Thanks Abby.
