Lately, there's been a lot of speculation on Britney Spear's opening perfromance at the 2007 VMA's. Many people have been saying that they were displeased with her performance and that it lacked energy.
There have also been harsh comments made about her weight and her body image. I think that people should back off and think about the situation before they start yapping their jaws.
First off, for someone who just gots out of rehab for drugs and drinking, I think she did a pretty good job. Secondly, it's always easier to criticize what someone does when you don't have to do it yourself.
As a celebrity people pick out every little flaw in what that person does wrong....................
and blow things out of proportion. I believe that if Britney hadn't gone into rehab and done some of the things she did, people would not have judged her so crucially.
There would have more than likely been blogs and articles written on how her VMA performance wasn't the best, but just because she's been in the public eye and has made mistakes, it intensifies her follies.
I just think that people should be careful and take notice that celebrities lives are watched and spied on, and their business is spread all over the world in magazines and broadcast's and that it's not fair to judge them by their mistakes or judge them so harshly.

She deserved what she got. This sort of thing is part of being a celeb. The spotlight shines just as bright when things are bad as it does when things are good. It was probably just another publicity stunt (read: bad press is better than none.) Also, I think you mean critically, not crucially?
No I pretty much meant what I said. I thought your name was dylan not webster.
I can hear what you are saying but I have to disagree.... Britney spears isn't known for her singing. She is known for what she does best...dancing and looking good doing it. I understand it was a hard time for her but maybe she should have turned that offer down.
I agree with Latisha. Brittany Spears is like a sex symbol. She should have never have done a performance in the state that shes in. Plus it looked like she had a hangover.
Britney Spears should not have said yes because she wasn't ready to perform.
Britney Spears should have never accepted the offer to perform.
She had just came out of rehab, and i don't think she was in any condition to perform
lmao @ all yall...i think its all on her whether she does what she does but then again she needs to find it in herself to know when to stop being Britney Spears and start being herself..thats just my opinion
I liked the song but she could've done alot better. It seems as though she forgot how to lipsync
I think that they are all just hatin. First of all who cares everyone makes mistakes. So they are just a bunch of losers anyway. At least she is trying to get her life back on track. Unlike the ones thaat are talking shit on here.
I honestly don't give a crap about Britney Spears, but I do agree that they shouldn't have put out her faults like that. On the other hand though, she really wasn't in any condition to start performing again.
Hey, I'm a teacher from York High (William Penn)and I have Jon (the writer)in class. I just want to support him by saying we (society and media) strongly influence peoples' thoughts. Thus it is sad that in the process of cutting on Britney we subsequently send the message that she was out of shape, not sexy enough, not good enough. Honestly, it wasn't that bad and she is not out of shape and since when was sexy the only objective?! Glad you voiced the other side Jon...keep it up.
Well Jon, I was just asking, because that sentence doesn't make sense.
No I wouldn't give you the respect of spelling your name correctly. I thought you were supposed to comment on the topic, not correct my grammatical errors. For real, just get a life. Who stays up until 1:10 am posting comments about spelling errors?
I think you interpreted my original post the wrong way. I really wasn't trying to be mean, I just didn't understand what you meant. I'm sorry for getting nasty with you. I hope you can let it go.
Ha. I'm confused. We're getting into fights that don't have much to do with the article.
Britney could have done better. I'm staying neutral on this one.
