'Special Occasion' an honest look at love

Bobby Valentino is a fairly new artist, but he is a lyrical force to be reckoned with. His newest release, "Special Occasion," is full of ballads that stray from the glamorous part of his life and introduces you to his intricate love experiences.

Many of the songs illustrate resentment for mistakes he has made in relationships that many people - whether or not they are involved in a relationship - can relate to. The beats and slow melodies allow you to go deeper into the music, making it seem as if you're in a conversation with Valentino.

This release is more mature than his self-titled debut, in the sense that this album shows he is more passionate for true relationships, rather than lustful and makeshift relationships with groupies.

The hit song "Anonymous" is not at all a lead-on of how wonderful this CD really is. The single produced by Timbaland peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Top 100: Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The album also features hip-hop and R&B artists Ludacris and Fabolous. Anyone who can relate to the experience of loving someone, who is passionate about their boyfriend/girlfriend, or who can attest to the ups and downs of being in love should definitely purchase this musical masterpiece.
