Teens weigh in on stereotyping

Stereotyping occurs within 30 seconds of meeting a person, said psychotherapist Robi Ludwig, who hosts the show "Without Prejudice" on GSN. People are often stereotyped because of their religion, sexual orientation and race. Do you think stereotyping is more common among teens or adults?

Teens do, because some of them try to judge people just to make themselves feel better.

Teens because in high school, like the cafeteria, you have all of the different cliques: jocks, preps, skaters, at different tables.

I say it affects adults more because they deal with it on a day-to-day basis when it comes to their job in the workplace. They deal with it whether they are being discriminated against in their job position or their pay. Teens don't have it that bad because they are in school where minorities are pretty much equal and there isn't a big clash. I mean, the toughest thing for teens is getting good grades, whereas adults is how much money they are being paid and if they are being respected or not.
