Transformers starts out a little rocky, with story lines starting and ending everywhere. Portrayed as "Sam", Shia LeBeouf is a normal, slightly nerdy kid we meet, who's only worries are getting a car and getting a girl. His dad buys him a car that eventually reveals itself as a Transformer.. or in the movie, an "autobot."
Sam has to save his planet with the help of the autobots, and the girl of his dreams.
The special effects are really cool. Some scenes in the movie are a little corny though, and the plot loses its focus. At the end, everything kind of comes together, but the plot still is very loosely tied to the movie. The main points are the robots, and the fight scenes with them. Which, I admit, are very cool, but the movie could use a bit more substance.
Transformers! As soon as it came out on DVD, someone in my dorm bought it and we all watched it - several times.
