Give Santa a Break

Political correctness always seems to have its issues during the holiday season.
This holiday season, “political correctors” are targeting none other than jolly-old Saint Nick.

Santa’s all over the world are being forced to give up their motto of “ho, ho, ho” and change it to “ha, ha, ha.”
Many women are complaining that “ho, ho, ho” is derogatory to them since the saying is so close to the American slang for prostitutes. Therefore, they do not want their kids being around an old, plump man luring children in by calling out this motto.
This, to me, is political correctness gone a litte too far. Santa saying “ho, ho, ho” is tradition and childhood memories of being lured onto Santa’s lap at the mall by this jolly saying.
So what’s next? I worry about our future society. By the time our grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up will there even be any Christmas traditions left? Or will it just be a simple “Holiday” that affects no religious points of view and accommodates everyone?

Good article Annie...I have to admit, I got a huge kick out of the phrase "an old, plump man luring children in by calling out this motto." Hahahaha...just imagining Santa luring in children.
