Scholarships, scholarships... here are some tips!

| | Comments (0)

Is anyone else looking around and applying for scholarships? I got my college applications done, which was a huge relief for me... but now it seems like I'm on a new time-consuming mission--scholarship searching. Now don't get me wrong, it's not the searching that's the toughest part...

it's the applying over and over again. I wouldn't mind too much, but usually I have to write a slight variation of the same essay over and over again. It can come in handy though--I've been using a couple "stock" essays. I just need to change them a little for each scholarship.

You can use www.fastweb.com to search for scholarships, www.collegeboard.com has a nifty scholarship search, too. To be honest though, I think once you've filled out one of these scholarship profiles, you pretty much get the same results from each scholarship search web site.

Make sure you check out the counseling center at your school, too! I know West York puts up a new scholarship bulletin every month or so. Those scholarships aren't usually on the scholarship web sites.

Just some tips for those of us trying to stay debt-free... :) Good luck with your searches and applications!
