Come on...we all know we have one in our lives. It's that relative you just can't stand.
One of the biggest complaints I heard about Christmas break was spending time with family--not all family, just that one particular person that gets on everyone's nerves.
I can relate. The "Debbie Downer" in our family (to use a term coined by Saturday Night Live is an aunt that has a new ailment every time we see her. The variety of illnesses is as wide as her imagination, and even if you are that sick all the time, you usually don't gloriously complain about it every chance you get.
I have another aunt that qualifies for "Debbie Downer" status. Everything she does annoys the rest of my family, from her endless competitiveness to her insistance that her children must live sheltered, perfect, carbless lives. I'm serious--she won't let her one- and two-year-olds eat pasta.
We all love (most) of our relatives dearly, but sometimes that love is very, very strained.
