"Crowned: The Mother of all Pageants" is a new reality show on the CW
channel that aired at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and 9 p.m. Sundays. The
show, which debuted in December, is hosted by Carson Kressley, Shanna
Moakler and Cynthia Garrett. ¶
"Crowned" is a competition in which 11 mother-daughter pairs battle to
be the superior team and winner of all pageants. Each pair goes
through challenges. If they win, they are "sashed" in that category and get
to pick a prize from a cabana boy. ¶
In each episode, the mother-daughter teams have a weekly assignment to
complete. Some of the assignments include first impressions, and
talent and fitness routines that the pair performs in front of the judges.
¶
The pair who does the worst that week is "de-sashed." ¶
I like the show because it helped mothers and daughters bond together.
¶
When the show first started, some of the daughters argued with their
mothers, but as each episode passed, their bonds grew stronger. ¶
I think the show will do well because there are a lot of people who
adore the pageant world. It could also draw attention from viewers who
aren't in the pageant world. ¶
Every time I saw a preview for a new episode it made me want to watch
the show again, because of the drama and cliques forming in the pageant
house. The winners of the first season were crowned in January. ¶
"Crowned" held auditions in February to find contestants for its
second season.¶
