The Size of Heaven
It seems like I've been here before.
...But the last time, I remembered there was so much more
I can sense the melancholy and excitement in the air
I can feel the jealousy and the incitement that was once fair
I can see the tears of others, rolling down the cheek
The curriculum for saying "goodbye" never seemed so meek
I remember holding hands a little more tightly
I remember the cups weren't filled so lightly
For every sunset on the beach, there is a sunrise in reach
There are lessons in life that people wish they were able to teach
There is change, love, hate and moving on
I can taste the flavor of peace and it is so strong
I can hear angels sing because they know the demons are hurt
I can smell our hearts and they all like to flirt
Too many of us go a separate way
The size of heaven stretches, so it's OK
Whether we fall asleep to a lullaby or in complete silence
We can still dream that we have made a world full of less violence
We could all use more "hellos" and smiles
We could all use a little more heaven, even though it stretches for miles.
