Author Barbara Alpert writes, "She is your mirror, shining back at you
with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst
and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight
companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your
teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink."
Alpert takes the words right out my mouth.
My sister means the world to me. She is my best friend, and without her
in my life, I would be lost.
Ever since I was born, I have followed in Annie's footsteps. At times,
her footsteps can be difficult to fill; however, she always gives me motivation
and courage to do what is best.
When we were younger, I tossed aside all my toddler toys to be her
student playing school. She taught me everything I know, starting with my ABCs in our basement classroom.
As years went on, I strived to fill her footsteps.
Presently, I fill these footsteps with admiration and pride.
I took a position on the Teen Takeover staff because of her experience
writing many great and creative articles for the staff last year.
I also follow her high school career path scheduling many of the same
classes that she took.
I constantly ask Annie for help with my homework. She always knows what
to do.
I also fill her footsteps by wearing her clothes all the time. Annie has
a way of making everything she wears look great. I strive for her fashion sense
as I steal and wear her clothes.
My absolute favorite thing to do with my big sister is just to spend
time with her.
I adore any second she is with me. She is my role model and I look up to
her for advice, wisdom and courage.
I could not go one day without my sister because, to me, she is perfect.

On May 31, 1993, my life changed forever.
At the ripe young age of 3, I knew the bundle of joy my parents brought
into our house would not only be my little sister but also my best friend
Together, my sister and I share many adventures and laughs together.
She is the Ben to my Jerry, who loves to eat Phish Food ice cream.
She is the Abercrombie to my Fitch, who shares every item of clothing we
own.
She is the Romulus to my Remus, who finds Latin a common interest.
She is the Simon to my Garfunkel, who always comforts me like a bridge
over troubled water.
She is the Jack to my Jill, for always tagging along, even if she does
come tumbling after.
She is the Ebert to my Roeper, who could watch our favorite movies
including: "Love Actually," "The Wedding Planner," or "Forrest Gump" for hours
and hours
She is the cheese to my macaroni, who would never eat beef alone.
She is the Lewis to my Clark, who is always ready for an adventure.
She is the Jekyll to my Hyde, as many people mistakenly identify us as
the same.
She is my best friend, my little sister, my role model, my confidant, my
twin, my clothes-stealer, but most importantly, to me, she is perfect.

Great article!
It's wonderful to see true sisterhood alive and well.
