merry christmas everyone! I got a crapload of movies today as gifts (burn after reading was awesome!!!) and many of them had very very good endings, which is what I enjoy most in a movie. So, as my personal gift to the blogging community, I'm making a list of the ten best movies (that i've seen) with the best endings (all clever and creative with lots and lots of twists! yes!). Check them out, I guarantee you'll be blown away at the end!! Enjoy.
1. The Usual Suspects
The best ending out of any movie I've ever seen. Incredible, totally didn't see it coming.
2. Seven
Almost literally was on the edge of my seat at the end of this one.
3. The Sixth Sense
For those who don't already know the ending from word of mouth, it's awesome so don't let anyone ruin it for you.
4. Adaptation
The entire third act is incredible. The story will take a turn you never thought it would. As Brian Cox says as a character in the film "Wow them with the ending." And that's exactly what Charlie Kaufman (the modern king of screenwriting) did. Well done.
5. Inside Man
It really was the perfect bank robbery.
6. The Departed
Very very thrilling the first time around
7. Sunset Boulevard
Don't believe everything the dialogue tells you...
8. Citizen Kane
One of the finest scripts ever written. The last image tells you what you've been waiting to hear.
9. 2001: A Space Odyssey
Now, an average movie-goer is going to watch this and have absolutely no idea what's going on at the end. But movie buffs (and Stanley Kubrick fans for that matter) will be able to interpret it however they please. It's not so much the suspense at the end of this, rather the many many interpretations and discussions it can lead to.
10. A Beautiful Mind
This one is risky because it can spawn entertainment or anger. You'll see what I mean.
