Want to write stories for Teen Takeover?
Each spring, the York Daily Record/Sunday News recruits more talented young people for its monthly section of stories for teen readers, reported by teen writers.

Each teen is asked to write once or twice a month on lifestyles, television, school, politics, events - anything relating to adolescents. Plus, teens are responsible for adding fresh posts to this Web site regularly.

The writers meet together for an hour and a half each month with York Daily Record staff, too.

The position is unpaid, but teens have a chance to be edited professionally, create a portfolio of clips and learn more about print and online journalism from inside the profession.

If you are between 13 and 17, please send us:

· Your name
· Telephone number
· E-mail address
· Two samples of your writing
· Two letters of recommendation
· A list of three stories you would like to read in Teen Takeover.

Writing samples can be an essay or a term paper from school. References can be a teacher, guidance counselor, coach or neighbor (just not your parents).

Send your submissions to York Daily Record, Teen Takeover, 1891 Loucks Road, York, Pa. 17408, or e-mail teens@ydr.com. If you have any questions, call 771-2021.

Deadline is May 31.
