Books, always better then the movie

| | Comments (1)

I just saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for the second time. I was... disappointed. I mean, as far as movies go, I thought it was a good movie. But, it didn't portray the book all that well. And, I'm a huge fan of the books.

I thought the movie was funny, sweet, suspenseful, and dark- all the things a Harry Potter movie should be. I just wasn't satisfied. Personally, I don't like Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. Since the book focused thoroughly on the relationship between Harry and Dumbledore, I expected to see that in the movie. But I didn't.

And another thing- I was so looking forward to Harry and Ginny becoming a couple. The movie made it awkward! Maybe I'm just overanalyzing this because I'm a Harry Potter nerd. I guess Warner Brothers did what they could. I just hope they get all the details right in the next two movies.

I agree with you Kelsey! While I did enjoy the movie, I thought that it greatly differed from the book. For one thing, I was expecting a more dramatic build up throughout the movie that would lead to Dumbledore's death. Also, Harry and Ginny's relationship did seem awkward and I was unimpressed with how the movie ended. However, I loved that Ron and Hermione finally got together! They were definitely my favorite relationship in the book. Overall, I liked the movie but it did not live up to the book.
