Harry Potter fanatics, I seek your knowledge.

Disclaimer: I am not obsessed with Harry Potter. Yes, they were good reads, ridden with subtle wit and a profound moral or two; but I'm not one of those people who draw lightning bolts on their faces and carry around a smoothed twig. I just have a simple question about the fourth book.

After Lord Voldemort incarnates himself, Harry and he duel. The wands, which hold "twin cores" that cause an odd relationship between them, shoot a spell at the same time, each responding to the words of his own master. Then some weird, mystical reactions takes place, and ghostly victims of Voldemort's Killing Curse begin to swirl from his wand. Among these dead are Harry's parents.

This is where I get confused. All of the deaths come out in reverse order, from most to least recent, as if traveling backwards in time. From early on in the series, it is known that Harry's father, James, was killed first and then his mother, Lily, died, trying to save Harry. However, in the fourth book, a phantom-like James Potter slides out the tip of Voldemort's wand and tells Harry to be strong, that Lily will come soon.

I would like to know why James came out before Lily, when he died first?

I'm one of those obsessed Harry Potter fans. It's because J.K. Rowling made an honest mistake. She admitted to it when her readers corrected her.
Hope this clears things up :)

I'm one of those overly obsessed Harry Potter fans myself. When I read this book, I wanted to know the answer to that same question. It turns out J.K. Rowling made an honest mistake. She admitted to it when her fans corrected her.

Oh, otay. I was just wondering if this was already out there or not. It makes sense; I couldn't believe nobody noticed. Thanks!
