"Stargate Universe," the newest television series in the Stargate franchise, premieres on Friday, October 2 on Syfy at 9pm with a two hour episode. The show is about a group of people who are sent through the Stargate, a large, ring-shaped wormhole generator that allows people to travel to any planet with a Stargate on it, to the Destiny, an abandoned space ship in the outer portions of the universe. The people are stuck on the Destiny as it travels through space.
The show sounds like a combination of "Star Trek Voyager" and "Stargate Atlantis." From what I've seen from commercials, "Stargate Universe" looks like it will be darker than its predecessors.
