What’s Next?

Apple recently sent out invitations for a “media event” to be held tomorrow, September 1. Apple-iPod-Guitar.jpg So what could Apple be releasing now? Here are some possibilities.
1. A new Nano? Rumors have been flying around the way that they do whenever Apple is about to release something. One of the rumors that seems possible is release of a sixth generation iPod Nano. This nano might be a little different than the old models. The sixth gen Nano could be just a screen, a tiny touch screen, with a volume rocker on the side, the normal dock connector, and a few other buttons. It seems a little farfetched to have a 3cm x 3cm touch screen, but you never know.
2. iOS 4 for the iPad? This is what every iPad owner has been waiting for, an operating system that includes multitasking capabilities. Way back in the beginning of this summer when Apple released their 4.0 operating system for the iPhone, everyone was wowed. Then Steve Jobs explained that the iPad wouldn’t be getting the OS4 until the fall of 2010. So maybe iPad owners will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow to get this upgrade a few weeks early.
3. A new iPod Touch? Each year in September, for the past three years, a new iPod Touch has been released. Since the 2nd generation iPod touch is modeled after the iPhone, the new Touch may get two cameras just like the iPhone 4. Another possibility is 3G capabilities for the newest Touch, just like the iPad!
4. A new Apple TV? Today’s Apple TV is a little box that goes on top of your TV and connects your apple iTunes account to your TV screen. Anything you have downloaded to your itunes account you can watch on your HDTV through the Apple TV device. There have been a lot of rumors going around about a new Apple TV–one that might allow you to rent TV episodes. But, unless a new Apple TV can rid you of your cable or dish network bill, it probably won’t be very popular.

That is a cool picture. I wonder if it is a real guitar? I can’t wait to see what Apple announces.
