Hi, I’m Kiah Morrison, a student at Spring Grove High School. I am 16-years-old, and next school year I am going to be a junior.
I have always had a great interest in writing, and it began at a young age. While many people find writing a chore, I find it to be an excellent way to express yourself and speak from your heart. In seventh and eighth grade, Haley Staub, another new Teen Takeover staff member, and I joined the newly formed “Newspaper Club” at our middle school. This was our first real experience with writing articles. From there, I went on to become a staff member for Spring Grove High School’s newspaper, “The Rocket Star.” I am so excited that Teen Takeover has provided me with another opportunity to learn more about the field of journalism.
“Two parts heart, one part obsession; H2O” …During the winter months, it feels as though I spend most of my time submerged in chlorinated water. I have been a swimmer for Spring Grove since fifth grade. I also like to run and play tennis.
To put it simply, I love to travel. I’ve visited 20 states, and one day hope to visit all 50. Also on my bucket list for traveling is to visit every National Park in America. Most people are either love going to the beach, or the mountains, for me, I would have to say both. I love vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina each year, but I also love visiting the Rockies. I have been out West three times, and am looking forward to going once again this summer. I enjoy camping and hiking in Yellowstone National Park with my family. I am very excited to be traveling to Europe next summer with several other teachers and students at school. Students enrolled in German and/or AP History classes will be going to historical places in France, Luxembourg, and Germany for 10 days.
At school I am involved in Mock Trial, Power of One Club, Future Educators/Little Buddy, Link Crew, swimming, and tennis. In my free time, I like to read, use Pinterest, and spend time outdoors and with my family and friends. I also enjoy photography and making jewelry.
Once again, I would like to say just how excited I am to be a part of Teen Takeover, and look forward to writing again soon.
