Wishing I Was Still Out West

My family and I just took a trip to Colorado. This was the second time I visited the Rocky Mountain area and it was just as incredible as the first. My first trip, two summers ago, landed me in New Mexico for a 14 day backpacking trip. This summer’s trip, however, was to be a little more relaxing.  Aside from a few minor day hikes, and one massive summit hike, I was able to relax in the cool Western air for two weeks. I arrived back in York on the 21st and was greeted by the disgustingly humid air of the East Coast. As I sit reminiscing on the amazing trip, one of the most amazing things about the west is the mountain weather. Cold, clean summer air, and massive and sudden afternoon rainstorms that leave behind the sweet smell of rain and freshness.

I totally could have written this post, exchanging the West for the United Kingdom.
