This happens when I’m bored at work

My friend and I are both hostesses at a local sports bar and grill, so sometimes, we leave notes at the hostess station for each other. One particularly quiet night, I felt creative and wrote some haikus along with my letter. Here is the result.

November 9, 2012

Dearest Katelyn,

It’s only 5:21 p.m., and it’s already dark. There have been some new announcements for the hostesses, and I think I want to tell them to you poetically.

One, new announcement
Smoking allowed under tent
Rule changed with autumn

Gotta check bathrooms
Toilet rolls, paper towels
Remember to stock

Light all the candles!
But I don’t have a lighter.
“Go look for one, duh.”

Cleaning the windows
Why they all be dirty?
I hate fingerprints

Bussing these tables
The handprints on the tables
Please, cease to exist

My awesome haikus
You better read all of them
I’ll make sure of it
