The newest game from the creators of “Angry Birds,” Rovio, doesn’t include slingshots, eggs or even birds.Instead, it’s the pigs’ turn to shine as they search for the scattered pieces of a treasure map.
Unlike “Angry Birds,” in which players fire different types of birds from a slingshot to knock down the pigs who try to steal their eggs, “Bad Piggies” requires players to think and be creative in building carts that help the pigs reach the scattered pieces of their map. The materials change, but the carts can be made in any way and out of anything that is offered during a level. Carts may be made of wooden wheels and metal frames or powered by an electric fan. The cart’s design is entirely up to the gamer, and there are bonuses offered for finishing the level quickest or with the simplest design.
When I first discovered the game, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after a few hours, I didn’t want to put it down. Although it can be a little challenging at times, the game really makes you think about how you construct the cart, and sometimes you have to restart the level a few times before you actually get it. I would definitely recommend the game to anyone who is patient and enjoys a game where strategy and ingenuity are important, but not necessarily required. It is a game for all ages, and I suggest that anyone who likes “Angry Birds” consider trying this game, as well. It’s free, and it’s a lot of fun. It’s available in the App Store to anyone with an Apple iPod, iPad or iPhone.
