At an early age it is important to start developing fundamental movement skills. Tennis requires a variety of movement skills such as running, leaping, stopping, starting, bending, twisting, swinging, and stretching. Majority of professional athletes have been successful in a variety of sports during their childhood. At a young age participating in a lot of sports will develop a variety of skills. The more skills one has the easier it is to accomplish other movement task. Enrolling children in a tennis program is great way to enhance and foster new skills and enrolling children in other sports will heighten a child’s tennis game.
