Troy Goodling of Seven Valleys, who died Saturday in a hunting accident, was an avid local softball player for two decades. He will be honored around 6:30 or 7 p.m. tonight at Field 3 of the Bob Hoffman complex. Local softball teams and players have been invited to participate.
"Hunting and softball were his two great loves," said Ed Bowman. "This is going to be an emotional night."

Troy Alan Goodling, 38, died at 8 a.m. Saturday after another hunter accidentally shot him in the head while goose hunting in Springfield Township, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The Seven Valleys man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the York County Coroner’s office. The coroner’s office described the death as accidental.Goodling was an experienced hunter and was out with family hunting off White Church Road, Deputy Coroner Mary Breighner said.
