Last week, I went 7-3 in predicting the Friday night football games, which, in my book, is not a very good job. I failed to pick Red Lion, Dallastown and Kennard-Dale, all three of which scored impressive road victories.
Here are my picks for Friday, Sept. 30:
1. Bermudian Springs over Hanover.
2. South Western over Dallastown. Too much parity in Division I. Wildcats won't get two straight road wins. South Western isn't an 0-5 team.
3. New Oxford over Eastern York.
4. Biglerville over Fairfield.
5. Littlestown over Lebanon. But this looks like a really dangerous road game for the Bolts.
6. Northern York over Shippensburg
7. William Penn over Red Lion. Toughest game of the week to pick. Two Division I road wins in a row is too much to ask of Lions.
8. Central York over Spring Grove.
9. Susquehannock over York Catholic. Nightmarish Homecoming matchup for the Irish. Reminds me of my days at Strath Haven (when they were bad at football) and would always host Ridley for Homecoming (when Ridley was really good). Those were field days for Matt Blundin and Co.
10. Delone Catholic over York County Tech. Trap game for the Squires?
