With William Penn High School graduates Emne’ko Sweeney and Ali Johnson leading the way, the Central Penn Piranha captured their second NAFL championship in four years with a 28-3 victory over the King County (Wash.) Jaguars on Saturday in Orlando, Fla.
The Piranha, who also won the title in 2002, capped a 19-0 season.
Sweeney rushed 18 times for 130 yards and three touchdowns — including a 44-yard rumble — for the Piranha. He earned MVP honors.
Johnson, meanwhile, carried 18 times for 122 yards. He was named the Offensive Player of the Game.
ESPN will televise a taped version of Saturday’s title game at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
