If Temple asks to talk to Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley about the Owls’ vacant head coaching job, Nittany Lions head coach Joe Paterno said he’d allow his top assistant to speak to the school, The Associated Press reported Thursday.

But Paterno didn’t exactly give Temple a rousing endorsement.“Now Temple’s a job, Paterno said Thursday after practice in response to a reporter’s question about the Owls’ vacancy and Bradley. “That’s a tough job.
Current coach Bobby Wallace recently announced that this would be his last season.
Temple (0-10) must win Nov. 19 at Navy to avoid its first winless season since 1959. The Owls technically finished 0-11 in 1986 but only because they had to forfeit six wins due to an ineligible player.
Ron Dickerson, head coach of the Owls for five seasons in the mid-1990s, was an assistant to Paterno from 1985 to 1990. Paterno said he had advised Dickerson against taking the position.
“But things have changed. If Tommy comes to me and asks, I’ll tell him, ’Go talk to them. It won’t hurt. A little exposure might be good for you.
Paterno praised Bradley as a “good recruiter, hard worker and well organized.
Bradley is in his 27th year coaching at Penn State, his alma mater, and could be considered a top internal candidate to take over the Nittany Lions job when Paterno leaves.
