York College men’s soccer coach Mark Ludwig has been selected as the 2005 NSCAA/adidas South Region Coach of the Year. Ludwig led his Spartans to a mark of 18-2-3 and a Capital Athletic Conference championship. York College also advanced to the NCAA tournament where it won its first game before losing its second-round game on penalty kicks. Ludwig has a career mark of 95-48-8 over his seven year tenure at the helm of the Spartan program. He came to York as an assistant coach to former Spartan leader Pat Massa, a position he held for three seasons, before taking over in the fall of 1999.
